BACKGROUND
Youngman Roofing, a leading supplier of high-quality roofing and insulation products, is looking for two suitably experienced individuals to join the Group as Estimators. One role is based at our Maitland premises, the other one is based at our Vredenburg premises.The individual will be required to formulate accurate work estimates using measurements, historical data, and price-lists.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

Conduct measurements of roofs (CAD Drawings, digital files, hand sketches and on-site visits) and provide estimates for sales and production teams

After generating detailed cost estimates, submit a quote for approval, ensuring that quotes are as accurate as possible, and turn-around time is per company protocol

Provide customers and stakeholders with thorough explanations of pricing and cost details as well as any other additional technical information such as expected product lifetime, based on experience and judgement

Provide technically sound advice in relation to difficult walls etc

Assist with developing CAD drawings if required

Perform sight visits based on customer requirements , in order to survey existing conditions and provide support to customers

Address all client queries in relation to lead times, technical information, and stock queries.

Follow up on orders with factory and logistics and ensure feedback to customers in the event of problems affecting their orders; if there are delays, investigate and report back to customers

In the event of stock shortages or distribution problems, ensure that the customer is informed timeously of delays in delivery

Acquire new client contracts by identifying key players and generating interest in the business product offering via outbound calls and emails

Cold calling: stopping at construction sites whilst on the road and making enquiries for new sales and opportunities

Manage existing customers’ contracts in terms of service delivery and sales

Meet agreed sales targets per month

Attend to inbound calls and provide excellent customer service to potential customers

Maintain and expand your customer database
-
Monitor progress of existing projects
-
Conduct warranty inspections at the completion of projects to ascertain whether the installation took place accurately as per scope of project

Build effective relationships with suppliers, customers, and all external networks to directly contribute to the achievement of the goals of the business.

Maintain good working relationships with internal customers and suppliers to deliver on service level agreements

Maintain proper communication with the relevant role players on a daily basis
-
Recommend new methods, systems or work processes which leads to higher quality or better results at the same or reduced cost

Conduct continuous research to keep abreast of new technologies and innovations in the roof sheeting industry
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
-
Grade 12 or equivalent. Alternatively, individuals will be given Recognition for Prior Learning if they are not in possession of a Matric certificate

Relevant qualification in construction

Minimum 5 years experience in commercial roofing, consulting, and cost estimating

Product knowledge, roof sheeting machinery

Valid overhead crane license advantageous
